The DFJ Growth Fund invests in revenue-stage companies with billion dollar potential.
Our criteria include:
- Disruptive Market Leaders
Disruptive technologies and products often displace incumbent solutions and/or create new demand. Market disruption creates opportunity.
- Large Markets
We invest in large markets that can support billion dollar companies. We understand that addressing early market segments and seizing strategic opportunities to expand are often an important part of realizing the full potential of an enterprise.
- Demonstrated Growth
We are looking for companies whose product or service has been validated by the marketplace. The best type of validation comes in the form of revenues that are at least $1 million per quarter.
- Management Teams
We are looking for smart and competent teams that put the company’s mission first. We are very willing to help where we can. Our team brings a wealth of experience in mergers & acquisitions (and importantly integrations), global sales and distribution, off-shoring of technology development and manufacturing and the evolution of a management team as businesses scale rapidly.
- Fair and Fast
Because of the operating experience we have on our team, we recognize that when your business begins to grow, you want to spend as much as your time as you can on building the business rather than fundraising. We believe both investors and promising ventures are best served by fair terms and a timely diligence process. We are looking for teams that share our view.
We are open-minded to new markets and technologies that meet the criteria above as long as they are based primarily upon information technology. Our areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Internet/Web and new media
- Wireless
- Bioinformatics
- Nanotech
- Cleantech
